Bacteria

Warmth + Moisture + Food + Time + PH levels + Oz

Time = They will multiply over time.
Moisture= All bacteria need moisture to grow and reproduce.

PH levels= Foods with a pH close to 7.0 are ideal for most bacterial growth.

6 Needs bacteria need to survive

  1. Time
  2. Moisture
  3. Food
  4. Oz
  5. Warmth
  6. Ph level
37 degrees - Optimal Growth
75 degrees - Eatable
80 degrees - Reheat food

  • One way you can keep your food safe from bacteria?
Don't keep your food for to long like chicken etc.

CHICKEN AND RICE PATTIES

Today we made Chicken and Rice Patties. I learnt that you have to make sure your chicken is always cooked properly as you may get food poisoning, Miss had already heated the chicken prior to class so there was not enough time for bacteria t start growing.

Next time I will work on

Basic Hamburger Recipe

Ingredients - Serves 4
• 250g lean beef or lamb mince
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 egg
• 1cup soft white breadcrumbs
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 2 tsp oil

Method
1. Mix the mince, onion, egg, breadcrumbs and seasonings
together.
2. Using wet hands shape into 4 flat patties of equal size.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan, add patties and cook for about 5
minutes each side or until cooked through.

4. Serve between buns or bread with desired fillings.

- Last week we made Burgers, first we made the patties and then prepped all the other things for inside the burger.
- After we had done the patties we started to chop up the rest of our ingredients so that we could put them inside our burgers like cheese, lettuce etc.
- Then we added all our ingredients into the burger, but next time we need to make sure we use more tongs and things to put the burgers together instead of our hands
- We all helped put things away and do the dishes really fast so that after we could eat the burgers and they were good
- We need to improve remembering what time we put our things in the oven

Role: Everyone shared all the roles
