Erenora Puketapu Hetet
1941-2006
For her weaving was a living, she learned cloackmaking from renowned weaver Rangimarie Hetet.
Her husband was a master carver Rangi Hetet.
Erenora was famous for her constant innovation, She included materials such as wire and paua shell in her weaving. She also experimented with new techniques.
Like many weavers who learned from the Hetet family, Erenora incorporated the mawhitiwhiti (cross-over pattern) into her work.
